Invisible interest: How "Buy Now, Pay Later" works in Kazakhstan
ALMATY. May 30 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Retail sales on Kazakhstan’s online marketplaces have been growing at a breakneck pace, defying high inflation. According to national statistics, sales on these platforms surged by 1.6 times in 2023 and another 1.5 times in 2024, reaching 2.68 trillion tenge. The growth of trade volumes on the marketplaces is driven, among other factors, also by interest-free installment plans.
